High School Students Are Rising Up in France!

Our high school comrades in France have been taking to the streets for their future for days! The protests that began in Paris with the demand for quality education have quickly spread across the country. Thousands of high school students are filling their schools, streets, and squares. Despite arrests aimed at suppressing the struggle, they are not backing down—they continue to raise their voices.

Their struggle is far from unfamiliar to us. In Turkey, too, high school students are fighting against the exam-based education system, reactionary education policies, MESEM programs (which claim the lives of dozens of students every year), and a future without prospects. The system imposed on us every day surrounds every aspect of our lives, from our right to education to our future.

Capitalism is condemning young people to a future without prospects all around the world. We are experiencing the consequences of a system in which our right to education is increasingly restricted and our future is reduced to exams and precarious work. The voices raised by our fellow students taking to the streets in France once again show us the problems we face in our own schools and the necessity of organizing and fighting against them.

The imperialist-capitalist system is deepening poverty, insecurity, inequality, and wars all over the world. Today, we see that the rising struggle of young people in France for an equal and free life and the search for a future among young people in Turkey stem from the same problem.

We know one more thing: just as our problems and aspirations are shared, so too are our path to liberation and our struggle.

We must change this system that cannot offer a future to young people!

It is in our hands to create a world where equality, freedom, and fraternity prevail!

We salute the struggle of our fellow high school students in France as they fight for their future!

The demands of young people in France must be met, and attacks against young people must end!
Long live equal education!

Long live equality, freedom, and fraternity!
